About Us
Greetings from Apollo Medical & Skin Clinic, a small but warm General Practice set against the tranquil backdrop of the Leschenault Estuary.
Dr. Eric Kwok-Keong Lee, who has previously worked in Harvey, founded Apollo Medical & Skin Clinic to establish a medical institution that embodies his professional beliefs - his patients deserve nothing but the very best of his attention the moment they step into the medical centre. He shares with his long-time patients that what is often lost through modern medicine, is the understanding that only by developing a partnership model of care with the patient can the very best outcomes of therapeutic medicine be achieved.

Dr. Lee has previously worked in Harvey and Singapore for more than 20 years. Holding combined specialist General Practice accreditations from two countries, he is an experienced and adept doctor.
He is passionate about returning the practise of medicine to its very roots, where the actual listening and conducting of a proper physical examination is all part of the thought process of building long-lasting and trusting bonds with patients. As he also loves nothing more than a good professional challenge, Dr. Lee is never one to shy away from taking on cases that other GPs find challenging or complicated.
Dr. Lee feels extremely blessed that he and his family had settled down well in Bunbury over the last few years. Like all doting parents, he tries his best to attend his son’s weekly soccer matches on those warm, sunny Saturdays. On his off days, he relaxes by going on road trips and hiking with his family while hoping one day to do the Cape-to-Cape Track or climb Bluff Knoll.

Dr. Hans Bos moved to Australia from the Netherlands in July 2024 with his wife and three beautiful children. His wife is originally from WA (her parents now live in Australind) but grew up in the Netherlands. He was born and raised over there but have visited Australind many times.
Dr Hans has been a GP for fifteen years, running his own practice in the Netherlands for the last ten. He is very excited to have now joined Apollo Medical & Skin Clinic. What he loves about being a GP is that he gets to work with people from all different backgrounds, ages, and nationalities who are experiencing different health-related issues. He practises personalised medicine and really enjoys getting to know his patients. Within the broad spectrum of general practice, his main field of interest is cardiovascular diseases, in which he has specialised by doing a further two-year course after he became a GP. He also particularly likes to perform minor surgical procedures.
He and his wife have travelled the world but have now settled in Australind for family connections and the local lifestyle. They enjoy being outdoors and their kids love the beach. They are looking forward to getting to know everything the South West has to offer. He hopes to see you soon at Apollo Medical & Skin Clinic if you are experiencing any medical issues that he can help you with.

Our clinic offers telehealth consultations for all patients with Covid 19. Under current prevailing Medicare regulations as of this date (1st September 2022), this will include patients who have never set foot in our clinic before.
For all other non-Covid 19 patients, we also offer telehealth appointments with our doctors which is ideal for short consults. Tele-consults involve discussion of test results or provision of treatment advice for the ongoing care of your health. Do note that for these, Medicare regulations as of this date (1st September 2022) stipulate that you must have seen the doctor in person at least once for the past 12 months.
Please call our reception team and ask for more information or to book an appointment.
-
A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is appreciated if you need to cancel your appointment. By doing so, you are helping us to offer the appointment slot to another patient in need.
A "Did Not Attend" fee may be applicable if the above-mentioned notice is not received.
-
Please enquire about the list of consultation fees when you book an appointment with our clinic. Payment is required at the end of the consultation and you can pay using cash or EFTPOS.
Our practice is equipped with TYRO and Medicare-On-Line. These facilities allow the clinic to directly lodge your receipt for Medicare refunds, so please bring your debit card along. Please ask the receptionists for any information regarding these rebate options as well as for certain consults which may be charged private fees.
Payments for all workers’ compensation-related services are required to be made in full at the time of consultation until a letter of liability is produced from the insurance company.

Bulk billing means that the doctor is paid directly by Medicare on the patient’s behalf. Patients under the age of 16, patients who hold a valid Pension Card, Centrelink Healthcare/ Concession Card or DVA card holders are all bulk-billed.
The following types of appointments also will not incur any costs:
Chronic Disease Management Plans (Care Plans) and their Reviews
Mental Health Care Plan and their Reviews
Health Assessments
Childhood and Covid vaccinations

The Government sets the amount of Medicare Rebate. However, this amount hasn’t kept pace with the costs of providing high-quality general practice care. According to AMA studies, this cost is more than double the rebate amount.
GPs as private small business owners are not paid by Medicare. Every time a patient requests to be bulk-billed, GPs have just been absorbing the difference for years, while slowly watching the profession erode under the strain. As recent media highlights have shown, bulk billing is no longer sustainable in Australia without a substantial sacrifice of consultation time. Even then, many practices will struggle to survive.
We value our doctors and staff and think they are worth more than the Government’s small valuation of their service! At the same time, we are consumers as well and we very well understand the financial difficulties some of our patients may be going through. Our doctors have the discretion to reduce their gap fees when there is a bonafide financial need.

Bulk-billing clinics often need to see more patients in an hour - think 5 minutes consultations during which you may not have a chance to sit down and warm your seat before you are told that the session is over! Therefore, bulk-billing clinics may not be able to spend as much quality time as you deserve to address your complex medical needs.
